At the Villa On the

Mallorca Finca
Guillem

We had originally planned to take a cruise around the Med for our holiday this year.  The plan was to depart from Southampton on the Navigator of the Seas, however taking our circumstances into account & on closer inspection of the Royal Caribbean cruise guidelines, we decided that a cruise ship was not the best place for a baby.  By taking the short flight to the Balerics we could guarantee that Darcey her own room, a bath (rather than a compact shower!), a pool that she could actually use, access to beach every day, more space to crawl around (without the risk of grazed knees!) & also less chance of catching a norovirus.

It was a late booking (through Villa Parade), but we were happy with our choice of 'finca'.  The 5 bedroom villa, albeit a little large for our needs, was conveniently situated between Pollença & Puerto Pollença, and offered various activities (beaches, shopping, restaurants, culture, country walks) within a short drive.

365 steps, lined with cypress trees, lead to the Calvari church with its ancient wooden cross and views of Puig de Maria. The Calvari steps are the scene of a moving procession each Good Friday, when a figure of Christ is removed from a cross and carried down the steps by torchlight.
